Biography:
Courtney Cronley graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia, in 2002, with a bachelor’s degree in history and a minor in Japanese language. She served as an AmeriCorps*VISTA member in San Bernardino, California, after college. In this position she was introduced to social work for the first time and gained experience in program design and evaluation of an afterschool program for elementary students living in high-risk environments. She received a master’s degree in social work from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2006, during which time she worked on a grant-funded project to implement the Knoxville Homeless Management Information System (HMIS). She earned her Ph.D. in social work with a minor in statistics from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in December 2009. When she is not reading or writing, Dr. Cronley is also an avid cross-country runner and traveler.
