Biography:
Gabriella Modan is associate professor of sociolinguistics in the English Department at The Ohio State University. Her work focuses on the intersection of language, ethnicity, and urban identity. She is the author of Turf Wars: Discourse, Diversity, and the Politics of Place, as well as of articles in sociolinguistics, linguistic anthropology, and urban studies.
