| Los Angeles Trade-Technical College, a community college has been awarded $400,000 in Community Outreach Partnership Centers Program (COPC) funding to increase job opportunities for Los Angeles Empowerment Zone residents in the manufacturing sector. The College's COPC will link these residents to job training that leads to quality jobs in the Zone's apparel/textile industry. Specifically, the College will help expand production technology, financial growth and job quality within the apparel industry through access to L.A. Community Development Bank capital; increase EZ residents' access to quality industry jobs; and establish a community-based infrastructure for sustaining an industry-community collaboration.
