| Marshall University will address the economic development needs of six neighborhoods in Huntington, West Virginia. The City is an Enterprise Community and this grant will help it implement part of its strategic plan for the Community.
Included in the activities it will undertake are: establishment of a volunteer skills clearinghouse to match volunteers to areas of specific need; development of a comprehensive plan for the redevelopment of the upper stories in the Central Business District; identification of barriers to business development and expansion; evaluation of current community policing efforts, recommending changes, where necessary; and training of community leaders.
