| Pratt Institute will provide an integrated program of participatory comprehensive planning, direct technical assistance, training, and capacity building in partnership with five New York City communities. These communities are South Brooklyn, East New York Brooklyn, Bedford Stuyvesant, Williamsburg, and the Bronx Center. Outreach activities will include the provision of technical assistance in housing development, such as financial packaging for non-profit sponsor; organization development, such as fundraising and Board of Directors development; property management; development of day care centers; and development of community health centers.
As part of the outreach component, Pratt will give an internship to one community development practitioner from each of the five communities in order to strengthen the technical and management skills of senior staff of community-based organizations.
