| The Master of City and Regional Planning degree at Rutgers State University- New Brunswick was developed as a result of socially focused research integrated into a professionally directed curriculum. Rutgers has over four years experience with a CDWSP and offers an ideal setting to obtain solid theoretical and practical education preparing students for work in community development. From the very beginning of this program the focus has been on applying the concepts and methods of the social sciences and the design profession to the practice of planning. Since then, the goal of the program is to respond to coupling coursework with research focused on social issues.
