| Rancho Santiago College, in partnership with the University of California at Irvine, will receive $400,000 to implement a Community Outreach Partnerships Center in two neighborhoods in Santa Ana's Enterprise Community -- Warwick Square and Delhi Neighborhood. The partnership will marry the strengths of a community college and a university. Together they will undertake activities in Warwick Square to develop an active resident-led Residents' Association and in Delhi Neighborhood to develop a resident-initiated community center.
Specific activities to be implemented include:
1. Offering leadership development and community building training to community organizations and their potential leaders.
2. Providing job training and basic education skills, including computer literacy and citizenship preparation.
3. Establishing a neighborhood child care network to provide information on child care and assisting residents in getting licenses to be home-based child care centers.
4. Increasing the number of homeowners in the Enterprise Community through seminars and homebuying fairs.
Almost $1.2 million in matching funds will be provided to the project.
