| Texas A&M University's Colonias program will serve 10 colonias in Webb County, Texas. The COPC program will provide a comprehensive strategy to extend community development efforts for one colonia to the other nine. The program will include research to: assess and recommend subdivision regulations; assess barriers to implementation of infrastructure programs; and determine the demand for specific recreation and youth programs.
The outreach component will provide programs of job training, communications, family programs, youth programs, leadership training, and community development training. These activities are designed to correct the Third World conditions that people living in colonias face daily.
