| The Regents of the University of California intend to use its Community Outreach Partnership Centers New Directions grant to significantly contribute to the Richmond Regional Equity Demonstration Project (RED) sponsored by the Ford Foundation. They plan to concentrate on RED's goals regarding increased access to affordable housing and economic development strategies. They will help RED to focus some of its activities in strategic ways that can assure implementation, and to bridge relationships with other institutional partners including University of California, Berkeley's satellite campus in Richmond, the Richmond Redevelopment Agency and other local community based organizations who are not already part of the RED collaborative.
