| The University of California, Davis has been awarded $399,954 in Community Outreach Partnership Centers Program (COPC) funding to plan, develop, and implement an economic development, community revitalization, and educational partnership with the Del Paso Heights/Strawberry Manor community of Sacramento, CA. Three major activities will be implemented: a local urban agricultural enterprise and a community improvement company will be established to provide jobs and business training for neighborhood youth; a Community Education Center will be created in the neighborhood to provide on-site mentoring and educational programs; and a planning program with high school youth will be created, in cooperation with the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Authority, to provide a vehicle for their, and the rest of the community's, participation in the development of local improvement projects.
