Overview
The University of Massachusetts at Boston, in a partnership with Bunker Hill Community College and Roxbury Community College, will undertake a program to promote the development of six economically disadvantaged neighborhoods in Boston. These neighborhoods, which are part of Boston's Enhanced Enterprise Community, are Chinatown, Dorchester, Dudley Street, Jamaica Plain, Roxbury, and the South End.

Program activities will include: build the capacity of community agencies to design and implement economic development initiatives; strengthen relationships between community actors, especially across neighborhood and ethnic groups; strengthen the linkage between community, government, and the private sector; and increase resident participation in economic development activities.

The program is designed to establish a network of relationships in these communities that will make economic development projects viable and mobilize residents to participate in the process.
