| The University of Massachusetts Lowell has been awarded $399,987 in Community Outreach Partnership Centers Program (COPC) funding work with and in the Lowell, MA, Enterprise Community (EC). Based on needs identified by the community and ongoing outreach efforts, the University will undertake the following activities: training in business planning for small businesses in the EC; increasing the involvement and empowerment of refugees and immigrants. COPC will allow the University to expand the capacity of neighborhood groups to respond to Lowell's needs. It will also support the University in its efforts to foster sustainable growth in the region and strengthen bridges between the community and the university.
