| The School of Public Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha has received a Community Development Work Study Program grant of $86,558. The grant will provide work study opportunities for students enrolled in both Public Administration and Urban Studies programs. The University of Nebraska at Omaha will use effective mechanisms to recruit and retain minority and economically disadvantaged students at the graduate level, as well as prepare them to be effective professionals in the fields of community planning, development and management.
The School of Public Administration has implemented a balanced, two-year program of academically rigorous and professionally appropriate graduate course work; work study placements in Omaha or Lincoln-area community planning/development agencies; abundant professional networking opportunities; and specially designed seminars in community development, job seeking skills, and related topics.
