| The University of San Diego has been awarded $399,993 in Community Outreach Partnership Centers Program (COPC) funding to assist the Linda Vista neighborhood of San Diego, California. The COPC will focus on five areas identified by the Linda Vista residents: economic development and jobs, healthcare, education, housing, and community leadership enhancement. Activities to be undertaken include expansion of an English as a Second Language program; provision of community organization and leadership training; assistance to resolve landlord-tenant conflicts through a Housing Mediation Resource Center; and development of marketing plans for neighborhood small businesses. Faculty from the College of Arts and Sciences, as well as the schools of Nursing, Business, Law, and Education will be providing these services to the community.
