| The University of Texas at Austin will work with two existing networks of community organizations on housing, infrastructure, and community development in colonias in South Texas and job training in Dallas, Fort Worth, and the Lower Rio Grande Valley.
Activities to be undertaken include: conduct of an analysis of the housing and infrastructure needs of the colonias and assistance to these communities develop strategies for addressing these needs; and extension of successful job training and school-to-work programs to Dallas, Fort Worth, the Lower Rio Grande, and Austin. Community partners include the Texas Interfaith Education Fund and the Texas Low Income Housing Information Service.
