| Home Ownership & Money Management Education (HOMME) is the University of Texas-Pan American’s (UTPA) attempt to help families in the lower Rio Grande Valley gain control of their personal finances, protect their credit, access mainstream financing, and ultimately build wealth through homeownership. UTP proposes to use its HSIAC grant to provide the following classes: Personal Finance and Homebuyer Education, Pre- & Post-Homeownership Counseling, Money Coaching, and Micro Business Counseling. These classes will be taught throughout the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas and target low- to moderate-income families, with particular emphasis on those who reside in the more than 868 Colonias in Hidalgo County.
