| University of Puerto Rico intends to use its Community Outreach Partnership Centers grant to assist the city of Río Piedras. The UPR COPC projects seek to foment support and development activities directed toward would-be renters and home owners of modest means, the homeless, and the business sector, through three projects developed in conjunction with numerous community partners. These include organizational and technical support to home owners, renters of low and moderate income, and owners of vacant lots and buildings, To reduce chronic homelessness and strengthen services for the homeless, and to support a commercial improvement program in the community.
