| The University of Washington will receive a Community Development Work Study Program grant of $90,000 to help three economically disadvantaged and minority students obtain their masters degrees in either Urban Planning or Public Administration. The grant will not only be used to pay for their education but will also provide funds for work experiences related to their coursework. Among the agencies that students will be able to work with are El Centro de la Raza, International District Housing and Social Services, Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Association, the City of Seattle's Strategic Planning Office, the Seattle Samoan Center, and the Cascadia Community and Environment Institute.
