| Eastern Kentucky University has received a $90,000 grant for a Community Development Work Study Program (CDWSP) grant. The CDWSP at Eastern Kentucky University is a multidisciplinary program featuring faculty from public administration, planning, and economics that provides the student with a variety of skills and expertise necessary to achieve success in community and economic development. Required courses develop skills through applied research, practical experience, fieldtrips, simulations, and guest speakers. The demand on graduates of CDWSP is evidenced by the quality and variety of assignments, including the Kentucky Department for Local Government, Kentucky Office of Community Development, Lexington Housing Authority, Kentucky Housing Corporation, and Federation of Appalachian Housing Enterprises.
