| Jackson State University will receive a Community Development Work Study Program grant of $90,000 to help three economically disadvantaged and minority students obtain their masters degrees in Public Policy and Administration. The grant will not only be used to pay for their education but will also provide funds for work experiences related to their coursework. Among the agencies that students will be able to work with are the City of Jackson Department of Economic Development and Planning, the State of Mississippi Department of Economic and Community Development, the Mississippi Arts Alliance, the Mississippi Humanities Council, the MidSouth Foundation, and the West Jackson Community Development Corporation.
