| Carnegie Mellon University will receive a Community Development Work Study Program grant of $90,000 to help three economically disadvantaged and minority students obtain their masters degrees in Public Policy and Management. The grant will not only be used to pay for their education but will also provide funds for work experiences related to their coursework. Among the agencies that students will be able to work with are the jurisdictions of Wilkinsburg and McKeesport, the Pittsburgh Planning Department, the Fair Housing Partnership of Greater Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership, the Urban League of Pittsburgh, and several community-based development organizations, including Lawrenceville Development Corporation, Garfield Jubililee Association, and the Northside Leadership Council.
