| Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) has been awarded a $90,000 Community Development Work Study Program (CDWSP) grant to assist economically disadvantaged and minority students. The CDWSP funding supports the Community Building Fellowship (CBF) Program, which is administered by Virginia Tech's College of Architecture and Urban Studies. Students may choose among three graduate master degree programs: the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (MURP), the Master of Public and International Affairs (MPIA), and the Master of Public Administration (MPA). The CBF program's main focus is to integrate professional practice, research, and coursework within the student's academic program. Quality work placement sites include the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing Authority, Total Action Against Poverty, Community Housing Partners Corporation, Town of Blacksburg, The Northwest Neighborhood Environmental Organization, and the New Enterprise Fund.
