| West Virginia University has received an $85,514 Community Development Work Study Program (CDWSP) grant to assist economically disadvantaged and minority students. The West Virginia University CDWSP will aid students pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree. The 2-year program, the only accredited MPA program in the state, will feature preparation in community development, local government, and nonprofit administration through classroom and field placement experience. Students gain first-hand experience in community building and development through placements with local host agencies including the Office of the City Manager of Charleston, the Office of Planning for the City of Charleston, Life Bridge of Charleston, the Fairmont-Morgantown Housing Authority, and the Office of the City Manager of Morgantown.
