| The University of Florida has received an $88,572 Community Development Work Study Program (CDWSP) grant. The CDWSP funds will be used to assist economically disadvantaged and minority students enrolled in the master's of Science in Planning (MSP) program in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at Florida State University. The principal aim of the MSP program is to prepare students for professional careers in community planning, community and economic development, land use planning, housing, and community management, allowing them to function in both generalist and specialist roles.
Students will have the opportunity to work in a variety of community and economic development, community planning, or community management agencies, including the Tallahassee-Leon County Planning Department, the State of Florida Department of Community Affairs, the Leon County Housing Services Office, the Florida Housing Finance Corporation, and the Apalachee Regional Planning Council.
