| Minnesota State University-Mankato will receive a Community Development Work Study Program grant of $90,000 to help three economically disadvantaged and minority students obtain their masters degrees in Urban and Regional Studies. The grant will not only be used to pay for their education but will also provide funds for work experiences related to their coursework. The university will place a particular effort into attracting Native Americans interested in tribal community and economic development. Among the agencies that students will be able to work with are the City of Mankato, Greater Mankato Area United Way, Mankato Chamber of Commerce, Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation, and Region Nine Development Commission.
