| Southern University–Baton Rouge (SUBR) and A&M College intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Category II grant to implement the following activities: 1) renovate six homes for low- to moderate-income residents; 2) establish an Adopt-a-Block project to clean up and maintain low- to moderate-income neighborhoods; 3) create a housing stabilization program stressing homeowner retention and maintenance; 4) implement a program to move low- to moderate-income renters to homeownership; and 5) provide training and technical assistance to community partners on strategic planning, fundraising, and infrastructure development.
