| The Community Development Work Study Program at Northern Arizona University-Flagstaff selects qualified students from their nationally accredited Rural Geography program who have demonstrated a desire to work in the field of public nonprofit planning and community building. Students will gain valuable work experience at community building work sites in city Community Development Departments (which encompass an entitlement city and the Navaho and Hopi Nations); the Northern Arizona Council of Governments; and the Affordable Housing Coalition Inc., a nonprofit community builder. Students will spend 2 years working 20 hours per week in their internships and will be under the supervision of mentors who are professionals in the community development field.
