| Xavier University of Louisiana intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Category I grant to restore critical infrastructure needs that will enable the university to continue its pre-Katrina mission of educating young minds to take on leadership roles within communities, and to demolish post-Katrina structurally unsound university-owned properties, which will eliminate a source of potential blight within the community.
