Overview
Edward Waters College in Jacksonville, Florida, will receive a Historically Black Colleges and Universities grant of $494,975 to improve Jacksonville’s Fourth Street Corridor. The grant will enable the college’s community development corporation (CDC) to make a visible impact on the corridor by: acquiring and redevelopment properties, which will provide affordable housing for 10 low- and moderate-income families; and creating new open space by developing three to five park areas. In addition the grant will help stabilize the CDC by providing training and capacity building opportunities for its staff.
