Overview
LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tennessee, will receive a Historically Black Colleges and Universities grant of $500,000 to help position the college’s Community Development Corporation (CDC) to become a catalyst for comprehensive revitalization of the neighborhood surrounding the institution. The grant will be used to fund three activities. First, the CDC will undertake efforts to attract new minority businesses to the area. Second, the CDC will renovate and build new residential and commercial structures. Finally, the CDC will work to build its own capacity to address the priority needs of the community and the city of Memphis.
