| Benedict College will continue its revitalization efforts in the Read Street and Waverly communities, which are adjacent to the college. Utilizing HUD resources, the college will leverage additional funds to completely renovate the "old Pepsi Plant" and establish a business incubator and a revolving loan fund to support start-ups and disadvantaged businesses in the proposed target area, which is located within the city's Neighborhood Revitalization Strategy Area. In addition, the Benedict Minority Entrepreneur Development Program will be created to assist 50 to 100 disadvantaged business enterprises provide the much needed economic stimulation in the area.
