| Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, will receive a Historically Black Colleges and Universities grant of $300,000 to rehabilitate a vacant building and turn it into a facility to serve the human service and educational needs of Utica, Mississippi. The renovated site will house programs for daycare for the elderly, a HeadStart Center, a Foster Grandparents program, and a small business/entrepreneurship incubator. The project will have a major impact on the community by providing economic empowerment through job training and jobs, neighborhood revitalization, and a rebuilding of the local service delivery infrastructure.
