| Coahoma Community College in Clarksdale, Mississippi, will receive a Historically Black Colleges and Universities grant of $492,723 to create affordable housing opportunities in Coahoma and Quitman Counties. The College, in partnership with the two county governments and the Cities of Clarksdale and Marks, will rehabilitate five low-income homeowner occupied homes. Not only will the rehabilitation upgrade existing housing, but it will also provide an avenue for Youthbuild participants to gain an array of construction skills. The grant will also enable the college to examine the feasibility of creating a Community Development Corporation in order to continue similar activities.
