| Claflin University intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities grant funds to expand the university's role and effectiveness in addressing community development needs in the City of Orangeburg and surrounding areas of Census Tract 112, 112, and 114 through its community development corporation. The objectives of this project are housing rehabilitation and development, multi-unit rental housing development for the elderly and increasing academic achievement among K-12 students through Project Life.
