| Several Texas Tech University-Lubbock Community Development Work Study Program (CDWSP) students selected from groups traditionally underrepresented in government management, are being trained for careers as professionals in community and economic development while working towards their degree in a Masters of Public Administration. The CDWSP students will be engaged in real world experiences through internships with Citizen's boards associated with the Community Development Department; participation in development of the annual action plan for HUD; assisting in the review and revision of the city's consolidated plan; and work with the Lubbock Homeless Consortium. General course work can be strengthened through seminars in urban, and minority affairs.
