Overview
The University of Alaska Fairbanks, Bristol Bay Campus intends to use its Alaska Native/Native Hawaiian Institutions Assisting Communities (AN/NHIAC) grant to implement the Sowing the Seeds: Reaping Community Benefits in Bristol Bay Project, which will provide vocational educational training programs for rural Alaska Natives, and increase employment opportunities and small business development options in rural communities. This project will impact 338 individuals through vocational and entrepreneurial training throughout the Bristol Bay Region, and is based on the comprehensive village plans in which training and jobs involving welding, construction, computer training and small business development were considered important for economic development.
