| San Jacinto College (SJC), Central Campus proposes to use its Hispanic-Serving Institutions Assisting Communities grant to initiate two major tasks under the Adelante Pasadena project. The major goal of the Adelante Pasadena project is to stem the economic decline of North Pasadena. The two projects will primarily target services to Hispanic residents of North Pasadena and include employment and training services for the underemployed and unemployed, and small-business development assistance for existing business owners and new entrepreneurs. In addition, four supplemental activities will be integrated into the two major projects and will involve the direct participation of the City of Pasadena: 1) leadership training; 2) neighborhood revitalization; 3) promotion of homeownership; and 4) furthering fair housing.
