Overview
Tennessee State University’s (TSU’s) Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement (OSLCE) intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) grant to continue its assistance to the low- and moderate-income persons in the North Nashville community. TSU will use the grant funds to upgrade the physical condition of Watkins Park (the 104-year-old park at the center of this impoverished community); renovate physical facilities of three community-based organizations; and upgrade technology access and literacy in five community and faith based organizations. In addition, technology support and services will be provided to an additional two grassroots faith-based organizations. This technology project will provide computer hardware and software, as well as needed maintenance, training, and services.
