| Cankdeska Cikana Community College in Fort Totten, North Dakota will use its Tribal College and Universities (TCUP) grant to improve the infrastructure of their institution. The College's main goal is to provide educational opportunities for the low- and moderate-income individuals of the Spirit Lake Tribe and to ensure that students, staff, the Board of regent members and community members are involved in the achievement of this goal.
The College conducted a needs assessment to analyze the concerns of the students, staff, administration and the community members. Based on the results of the assessment, three projects were identified. The TCUP grant will provide for air conditioning for classrooms, science classroom additions, and the residing of two existing metal buildings.
