Overview
Columbia Basin College intends to use its Hispanic-Serving Institutions Assisting Communities (HSIAC) grant to improve the economic conditions of Pasco, Washington. The HSIAC program will use the expertise of faculty and students, and in partnership with community organizations, to work with the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and small Latino businesses in Pasco to develop marketing strategies to better market their products and services; work with the Tri-Cities Visitors & Convention Bureau to market the growing wine industry and cultural diversity of Pasco to attract more tourists resulting in increased sales; offer a series of marketing seminars to small Latino businesses in English and Spanish; and expand the Community Business and Training Resource Center to provide more space for training rooms and marketing seminars.
