| Southern University at New Orleans (SUNO) intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) grant to expand the role of the university in addressing neighborhood revitalization and community development needs. The needs include the development of small businesses owned by low- and moderate-income individuals to enhance economic development for the Orleans Parish, Louisiana area. The goal of the project includes the facilitation of economic development through technical assistance as well as business incubation and a revolving Micro-Loan fund for the establishment, stabilization, and expansion of small and microenterprises, including minority enterprises.
