| Tuskegee University will use its $550,000 HBCU grant to strengthen the capacity of TuskMac, the Tuskegee-Macon County Community Development Corporation. Tuskegee University will strengthen the capacity of TuskMac to address urgent community and business development needs in the campus neighborhood along Old Montgomery Road, from the Lincoln gate to North Main Street. Specific activities include establishing a small-business incubator and community services program; developing a comprehensive plan for the revitalization of the Lincoln Gate-Old Montgomery Road Corridor; developing a housing component for first-time homeowners; and enhancing the University-Community Dialogue program through participation and celebration of accomplishments.
