| University of Akron intends to use its Community Outreach Partnership Centers grant to further enhance the University Park Alliance. The needs and issues this COPC will address have been developed through community-wide planning for the University Park Alliance in 2001, and adjusted through meetings of the outreach task force and ongoing partnership with grassroots community and faith-based organizations, residents and business owners. The University of Akron COPC will feature faculty, staff, and students working with community partners on twenty activities in four program areas of housing, neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and education.
