| University of Massachusetts, Amherst, working with Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke College, and Holyoke Community College in collaboration with the Holyoke Planners Network (HPN) and the City of Holyoke, MA will establish the UMA/HPN COPC. This COPC aims to target and assist the growing Latina/o and lower-income populations in Holyoke through a variety of outreach and research activities that address specific community identified needs under the following functional categories: 1) Education: Family Literacy and College Prep 2) Economic Development and Community Planning 3) Capacity Building and Administration 4) Fair Housing and Lending. Projects will result in more reciprocal and sustainable relations among UMA, partner colleges, Holyoke CBOs and the city, thus enabling Holyoke to better address its needs.
