| Fort Valley State University (FVSU) intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) grant to expand its role and effectiveness in addressing community development needs and revitalizing neighborhoods in the University Triangle neighborhood of Fort Valley, Georgia. Program objectives are to: 1) provide homebuyer education classes and fair housing information; 2) provide GED, SAT, life skills, and workforce development preparation opportunities; 3) provide technical assistance to property owners for rehabilitation, demolition, and/or resale as affordable housing; 4) provide marketing and other technical assistance to reach targeted area residents to ensure equal opportunity; and 5) provide assistance for rural business outreach and development opportunities.
