| Bronx Community College (BCC) will use its Community Outreach Partnership Centers (COPC) New Grant for a multidimensional project that will have major impact on economic development in specific areas of the Bronx, a borough recognized nationally for its high unemployment rates, burgeoning immigrant populations, and low per capita earnings. The targeted centers and their service areas, located in some of the poorest districts in New York, clearly meet the definition of distressed urban communities. The college staff and the participating partnerships plan to deliver unique community outreach services by two community-based organizations.
