| Langston University intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) grant to implement Project CPR (Community Partnerships and Revitalization) to improve the surrounding community. The university intends to conduct the following four activities that will directly address the needs of the community: revitalize a community park located in Langston, Oklahoma, to provide recreational activities for area youth and residents; provide technical and financial support for small and minority businesses, through the university’s small business resource center; provide job training and placement assistance to low-income persons in addition to providing technical assistance to community organizations in the Empowerment Zone; and provide homebuyer education to low-income families. The activities will be conducted in Langston and the Empowerment Zone and Enterprise Community located in the Northeast Corridor of Oklahoma City.
