The City College of New York, in collaboration with Barnard College and Columbia University, will serve as a resource to the Harlem community. Included in the activities the Community Outreach Partnership Center will undertake are: - Assisting the processes of conversion, renovation, and management of community housing and commercial sites.
- Developing the skills of community residents that substantially improve their employment prospects.
- Promoting the establishment of new businesses in the community and the expansion of existing businesses.
- Providing community internships for college students, which include research and service.
- Increasing the leadership skills of key individuals in the Harlem community.
The Harlem FreeNet, an information network, will link community organizations with informational resources.
