Overview
Howard University intends to use its Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) grant to create and operate the Central Neighborhood Networks Facility (CNNF) and the Housing Information and Resource Center (HIRC). The CNNF will direct and coordinate activities at three Neighborhood Networks Centers (NNCs) near Howard University in Ward 1 of the District of Columbia and provide directly to low- and moderate-income persons, a range of advanced IT-related training services. Second, Howard University will expand and/or create three NNCs in public housing developments near the university in Ward 1 in the District of Columbia in the EC and link them to the CNNF. These NNCs will serve low- and moderate-income persons to achieve improved workforce development skills.
