| Hunter College has been awarded $396,037 in Community Outreach Partnership Centers Program (COPC) funding to assist community residents and organizations in and around the South Bronx Empowerment Zone to improve the employment prospects, well-being, and safety of young people ages 12-21. Outreach activities will include career awareness workshops, internship programs with health care and environmental organizations, violence prevention programs, and creation of a Youth Leadership Institute. The COPC is one component of an ambitious new initiative by the Hunter College President to strengthen the college's involvement in urban research, policy, and action.
